Born in the Dominican Republic, Berny Balbuena is an actor, singer, and strong mover based in the Greater NYC area. Berny graduated from Western Connecticut State University as class of 2023 with a BFA in Musical Theatre and a BA in Music. At Western Connecticut State University, he gained experience under industry professionals such as Elizabeth Parkinson, Scott Wise, Tim Howard, Dr. Justin P. Cowan, John Hickok, Megan Osterhaus, Ann Gerschefski, Chris Bolan, and MaryAnn Lamb.

Berny began playing Classical piano in his junior year of high school. He enrolled for one year at the Lucy Moses School his senior year under the instruction of Vladimir Yudilevich and continued to pursue Classical piano in higher education. 

​Outside of theatre and music, Berny enjoys traveling, trying new foods, keeping his energy and vibrations high, and dancing to Hip-Hop, Afrobeats, and Latiné genres!
